A Permian Basin oil and gas producer sat on a stranded asset for over a decade — shut-in wells with no pipeline access and no commercial gas solution. By deploying 360 Energy's Apex Gas Offtake solution, the operator was able unlock a new revenue stream, drill additional wells, and reframe the lease as a long-term growth asset.
This operator drilled for oil 15 years ago but encountered predominantly natural gas. With no commercial pipeline takeaway and no viable NGL yield, the wells were shut-in indefinitely. The producer continued paying shut-in royalties to preserve the lease — a cost center with no clear path to monetization. Pipeline interconnection was explored but ruled out due to uneconomic buildout costs and depressed Waha gas pricing. A new approach was needed to monetize stranded gas on-site.
360 Energy deployed (1) of their Apex Gas Offtake units to the customers site. The Apex system was uniquely suited for this site due to the gas’s high nitrogen content and off-spec composition. Further, Apex does not rely on utility power, pipelines or high speed fiber internet.
